This one-of-a-kind boat is nearing completion. Interested parties can “make it their own” by selecting carpet, customizing details, adding accessories, etc. A brand new, never-in-the-water traditional Au Sable Riverboat – patterned after the classic style of riverboat that has endured for well over a century in northern Michigan and elsewhere.
Everything you need to know. And then some.
Like most Au Sable Riverboats, this one is 23’-5” from stem to stern, just over 36” wide at the gunnels and 26” wide at the chines for most of its length. The bow flares gracefully rearward for 6’-0” along the midline, from the tip of the foredeck to the rear of the fish box. On either side of the “Pilot/Guide Seat” at the stern, the sides flare gracefully forward for 5”-0” from both sides of the 7-inch-wide transom/motor mount and join the midsection just forward of the third rib. Between the bow section (front fisherman) and the stern section (rear fisherman) sits the midsection of the boat – for storage, access, or a third fisherman – and the key to its incredible stability on the water due to 12’-5” by 3’-0” of dead-flat floor. Draws only 3-4 inches of river when loaded.
